The Last Supper

Yesterday was such a great day. So great I am going to have to document the rest at a later date.
We have been studying the last week of Christ's life this week. Yesterday we learned about the Last Supper. I probably should have done a little more research about what they actually would have ate for Passover. We know that it wasn't actually Passover yet and they probably didn't eat the traditional lamb since they hadn't been sacrificed in the temple yet. I am sure with a little more digging I could have figured out what else they probably would have had though (pretty sure it wasn't chicken and strawberries.)
We had bread, grape juice, olives, goat cheese, strawberries, and chicken.

I love this painting my neighbor painted. She is super talented and I feel blessed that she gave it to me.

All of us about to participate in the feast.
It was yummy! I kinda wanted to eat on the floor but I decided with the whole grape juice thing we better keep it at the table. After dinner we talked about Christ's suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane. The boys were spell bound. I love that they are old enough to start understanding a little. Maybe next year we will dress up! One thing is for sure, this will be a new tradition!

  1. Tiff, I'd like to know about your bread, it looks extra delicious. We skipped all this due to a super saturated mommy. But I am thinking I may just hit it all, later-style rather than wait for next year. I love that painting too and the photo in particular with the grape juice and bread plate. ~Emily
